When too much of stress is put on the amount of money one needs to be happy then true happiness evades us and it is difficult to have a good life. Instead if we can change our attitude and find a way of living a new life with new standards then we can still find a good life.

As long as families are together and everyone is in good health, financial problems can be sorted out with a little planning and economizing on everything. Instead of dining at expensive restaurants we could invite friends home and have a dinner together where each one brings a dish. This would be a great get together and it would definitely be a good life with such an enjoyable evening or afternoon.

Going to work in individual vehicles is an expensive way of doing it with the price of fuel escalating, why not try and walk part of the distance and give yourself the exercise you need and join in a pool car system the rest of the way to save on fuel. Not So Smart Money Moves

Written by admin on October 21, 2009 – 11:37 am

When you consider your family budget, you need to consider all the income coming in and the expenses going out as well as what real cash you have leftover. Most of us, in these tough economic times, live from paycheck to paycheck so before you go out and purchase a new car, consider these not so smart money moves:

Retirement Plans – You make think it’s a good idea to withdrawal money from your 401(k) or retirement plan to pay off a big debt, but that’s not always the case. Even though the debt is paid off, including interest you may owe, your retirement funds will be depleted and have less funds that can grow for your future. In addition, always check with your financial advisor, accountant or retirement plan administrator. If you do withdrawal funds early, you could incur taxes at tax time.

Opening a Line of Credit – Even if you qualify for a line of credit based on home equity or some other source of equity, the money given in your line of credit is too easy to spend. Because banks and lenders only require you to make interest payments on line of credit loans, you can find yourself with high loan principal payoffs in the long run.

Civil servant found guilty of car crash scam

Written by admin on October 21, 2009 – 10:46 am

As if we needed another reminder of the various insurance scams active in the UK at the moment, today saw a civil servant jailed for 4 1/2 years for his part in a 1.6 million “cash for crash” scam. Mohammed Patel, who worked at the Department of Work and Pensions, was found guilty of being part of a gang which staged road traffic accidents by breaking quickly and forcing cars behind them to crash into their vehicles.

It is believed that the 25-year-old himself was involved in more than 90 of these bogus collisions allowing him and other gang members to inflate insurance claims in a fraud which netted around 1.6 million. This particular type of insurance scam is costing the UK motor industry around 350 million a year which equates to around 50 in additional payments per UK car insurance policy.

There has been an enormous increase in the number of scams in the UK over the last few months with more and more people desperate for money and more and more people willing to take chances. However, this particular type of car crash scam has been ongoing for some time and today’s conviction will take a relatively experienced gang off the streets.
