Keep an eye on your finances even if the economy turns!
Written by admin on November 7, 2009 – 12:17 amEven though many experts believe that the UK economy will turn around in the latter part of 2009 and the early part of 2010, this is not the time to take your eyes off your personal finances and assume that everything will sort itself out. As we have mentioned on numerous occasions, even if the UK economy was to turnaround tomorrow there will still be a significant drag in the employment market with unemployment set to rise for the foreseeable future.
If you are on the verge of financial trouble or indeed you are struggling to cover your outgoings then you need to do something about it sooner rather than later. Sitting back and just assuming your finances will recover with the economy is a mistake which many people make and which many people pay dearly for. You need to take control of your finances, not let your finances control you, and be proactive rather than reactive to the situation.
As we have seen over the last few months, UK banks are unwilling or perhaps unable in some cases to inject new capital into the consumer and business lending markets which is having an impact on personal and business finance. When this will change is anybody’s guess but do not assume it will happen overnight because it won’t!
